Martha Harvey

Mrs. Martha Mitchell Harvey was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on October 16, 1924, to William and Lillian Lucas Mitchell.

Martha Harvey's seven brothers and seven sisters preceeded her in death.

At the age of twelve, Martha confessed a hope in Jesus Christ under the leadership of the Late Pastor Steward at the Burdenspur M. B. Church in Blythville, Arkansas.

On March 16, 1946, Martha was joined in Holy Matrimony to Morie Harvey, who preceded her in death. To this union seven children were born: Walter, Savannah, Michael, Joanne, Stanley, Johnnie Sr., and Anita. Savannah, Michael, Joanne, Walter and grandson (Savannah's first born) Ronald Sr., preceded her in death.

In 1957, Martha was united with Olivet Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorage of the Late R. T. Davis. She attended and served faithfully until her health failed. Martha was a faithful member of the Usher Ministry, where she served for many years.

Martha’s special gift was giving counsel and encouragement to members, family, and friends. She was employed by the St. Louis Public School System as a Cafeteria Worker.

On February 24, 2025, Martha answered the clarion call of GOD to leave this side of life and enter into HIS JOY.

She leaves to cherish her love and legacy: Two sons, Stanley, and Johnnie Sr.; One daughter, Anita.

Six grandchildren; Mario White, Shawn Brown, Eudora White, Jamel McCoy, Johnnie Jr., and Justice Harvey. Seven great-grandchildren; Mario Jr., Samariah, Makayla, Madison, Danyae, Maurice, Ronald Jr., Sonya and twelve great-great grandchildren.

She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great nephews, great nieces’ cousins and friends.

Martha cherished her relationships with those who came into her life, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
