Lynnette Elaine Hopson

January 11, 1962 — January 23, 2025

Lynnett Elaine Hopson was born on January 11,1962, in St. Louis MO to John Sr and Earlean Hopson. She was their first born and only girl of two children. She was preceded in death by her beloved father and both maternal and parental grandparents.

Lynnett accepted Christ as her savior and was baptized at an early age at Prince of Peace Baptist
Church. She started her early childhood education at St. Edwards Catholic School and later continued her education in the St. Louis Public Schools System at Langston Elementary and Beaumont High School.

Lynnette adored and was inspired by her mother's work ethics; she decided to follow in her mom's footsteps and worked at Famous Barr with her mom. After a few years of servicing the public, Lynnette realized the love she had for helping others so challenged herself to greater responsibilities in the hospitality field and accepted a position with the Marriott Hotels in Downtown St. Louis where she held the title Supervisor of Housekeeping and excelled for many years.

Lynnette united with Allen Bassette at the age of 23 for 16 years, and from this union 3 amazing children were born, 2 daughters and a son. She took to motherhood like a natural, raising, pouring love, light, and strength into her children. A proud mother, Lynnette, never missed a field trip, school assembly or an event and she cherished every moment watching her children grow. She loved them unconditionally and passed that unto them. Over the years she gained nicknames from everyone that loved her (Cuz, Auntie Nett, Ms. Lynn, Nettie, and the Famous Tweety), but the greatest nickname was given when she became a grandmother, and she took on the name "Gege". We all knew her as an amazing mom, but to see her in Gege mode was like watching Superwoman. The love she gave and showed her 6 grandchildren was unmatched, and she will forever live through them. At any given time, you could always find Lynnette bragging about them, laughing, joking and creating fun memories with her Gege babies.

Lynnette was a woman of many talents. You would find her doing everything from cooking, baking, crocheting, and jewelry making. She took her favorite saying "I can, I shall, I will" to heart and anything she put her mind to; she did and did it well. In 2021 she became a Glamnista and was able to put her taste for fashion in the spotlight as a brand ambassador, showcasing her favorite purses, nails, jewelries and hats off. Her ability to connect with the internet and uplifting others was a true testament to her generosity spirit. With her internet entrepreneurial spirit and business savvy personality, she gained a whole new group of people that fell in love with her and they called her their "Social Media" sister.

Lynnette transitioned peacefully on the evening of Thursday, January 23rd, 2025, with the love of her family surrounding her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, deeply missed, never forgotten, and will always be cherished by all who knew her for her generosity and infectious laughter. Her memories will be carried on by her three loving and devoted children; Laferriest (Earl) Robinson, Latrice (Charles Mcnair) Bassette, La-Prince (Beyonka) Bassette. Grandchildren; Armoni Mcnair, Charles Mcnair, Ethan Robinson, Ean Robinson, Eden Robinson, and Elliyah Robinson. Her faithful and praying mother; Earlean Hopson and her only loving and caring brother; John Hopson Jr. from Pensacola Fl. Along with numerous cousins and yes there's a lot of them lol, nephews, nieces, as well as extended family members and friends.
