Juanita Francis (Marshaline) Anderson, aka. Ruth..aka Mimi was bom November 3,1932 in Enterprise, Mississippi to the union of Erma Longmire and Ernest Anderson. She grew up in West Virginia, along with her 2 siblings whom preceded her in death, Ernestine Harbour and Joseph Felious.
Juanita attended Excelsior Elementary School in West Virginia. She returned to Mississippi where she graduated from Baptist Seminary High School. Juanita moved to Venice, IL with her mother Erma, stepfather John Allen and her siblings. Juanita went to and graduated from Meridian Business College in St. Louis, MO
Juanita met and married Charley McClure whom also preceded her in death. In the 1960's Juanita and her husband Charley owned and operated a drugstore, and a small Confectionary store. When her husband joined the U.S. Army, Juanita traveled with him to Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Juanita bore 3 children, Kenneth, Karen and Kelli. She worked part time for many years at Stix Baer and Fuller, she also worked for the Division of Employment Security until she retired. She was a great asset to HER community because she was in a position to find jobs for anyone who wanted to work and she was committed to doing just that. She even had a television commercial shown on local Channel 11.
Two of her greatest blessings, were her grandsons Omar and Mark. She enjoyed going out to eat after church with Mark and never missed a Play or Program that Omar participated in during those school years. All the special moments she was there. She always looked forward to the Holidays when she would cook for her family. She loved to read, finding much comfort in that, you could find her reading her astrology, reading updated books on medicines, looking up any medicine that were prescribed to you, letting you know if it was good or bad and giving in-depth details about the medication. Not to mention, offering other options to talk about with your doctor. She was also into holistic medicine, she really believed that natural remedies was the best medicine.
Juanita enjoyed talking on the telephone, reminiscing with childhood friends from Venice, IL. Juanita always kept her Holy Bible by her bedside, for over 50+ years, she was a devoted and faithful member of St. Timothy Church.
Juanita untiringly supported her special needs daughter Kelli until her health started to fail and she was no longer able to care for her. Juanita leaves a Legacy, her children, Kenneth, Karen and Kelli; her grandsons Omar Brown, Boston, MA and Mark Davis, St Louis, MO 2 great grand children Kenzie and Mark, Jr; nieces Cynthia Logan (CA) and Jessica Julian (Scott) of (Nevada) nephews Justin Felious and Joey Felious, grand nieces Jade, Shimere, Myisha, Janae and Maya; grand nephew Aaron, and one of many first cousins Thomas Anderson (Michelle) of Dayton, OH who spoke with her consistently up until days before her passing.
