Irma Lucille Talley
October 25, 1919 — July 13, 2012
MRS. IRMA LUCILLE TALLEY, second of seven children, was born October 25, 1919 to the late Ora Cole of Meridian, Mississippi.
At an early age Lucille professed a faith in Christ as her personal Savior.
She had two children; Lucy Jones-Caldwell, and Lula Talley, who both preceded her in death. Lucille took great pride in her accomplishments. She worked in housekeeping at Fountain Blue Apartments for over 33 years, raised her children, grandchildren, and even some of her greatgrandchildren.
Late Friday night, July 13, 2012 11:30 p.m. at Christian Northeast Hospital, "the angels from heaven sealed her lips forever. Her soul took wing to the great beyond, where there will be no more pain nor sorrow."
Although dementia claimed her memory from time to time, Lucille never forgot a face or good deed rendered to her. One person she remembered especially is her favorite granddaughter, whom she called "Rondy", Rhonda Phillips.
At age 92, Lucille was able to enjoy her blues records, dance, sing, hang-out sometimes, play with her grandchildren, and have a good laugh with family and friends.
Mrs. Talley will be remembered for her loving spirit, spunk, honesty, and giving heart. To know her was to love her and today her life will not be mourned, but celebrated.
She leaves to celebrate her life: 4 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and dear friends.
