Henry Gillespie, Jr

Mr. Henry Gillespie was born to Henry Fee and Mary Alice Gillespie in St. Louis, Missouri on May 11, 1947. He was the third oldest of 12 children. Henry was educated in the Saint Louis Public Schools system. A graduate of O’Fallon Technical High School where he studied Radio-News.

As a young man Henry served his country in the Vietnam War for nearly 3 years. His service had a lasting impact on him and those who knew him. After his time in the Military Henry would go on to work for companies such as IBM and Microtel. Henry had a lifelong passion for technology and was always eager to learn about developments in the field. He was an avid learner who had a love for knowledge and enjoyed studying new subjects throughout his life.

Henry married Charline Jones on June 28th, 1971, in St. Louis, Missouri where they would build a life together and raise their children and grandchildren. Charline passed away on January 18th, 2013, after nearly 42 years of marriage. Throughout his life's journey of 75 years, Henry has encountered many triumphs and challenges. Yet, he had a way of bringing joy and laughter into any situation.

Henry will always be remembered for being a good time and his many catch phrases. He was preceded in death in death by his Mother, Father, Son (Henry III), Sisters (Mablene, Gloria, Brenda), Brothers (Phillip-Larry, Lorenzo, Alphonso), Grandson (Harold K.C Johnson) and Great-grandson (Jace Riley Gillespie). Henry entered into eternal rest on December 11th, 2022, after a brief illness.
He leaves cherished memories with daughters Sharon (Joe) Pierce, Faith (David) Johnson, Hope (Cedric) Brown, Charity (Juaneryle) Brooks, Justine Gillespie; Grandchildren Henry Marquis, Stephen, Alex, Dynasty, Justin, Darren, Morgan, Alexus, Jarrod, Briana, Laffarel, Al, Carli; Great-grandchildren Makhi, Darren jr., Zhorian, Mi ’Amor, Alex jr., Melani and a host of other relatives and friends.
