Ms. Floria Mims was born January 12, 1941 in Panther Burn, Mississippi to the late Mr. Calvin Mims and Ms. Julie Johnson.
Floria gave birth to her only child, Mr. Jerry Hobbs at a young age. She and her son migrated to the St. Louis, Missouri area in her early twenties.
Floria worked as a career seamstress. She was gifted in that area. Floria could see an article of clothes in a book and duplicate it almost to perfection. She shared her gift, working as seamstress until her health began to fail.
Shortly after arriving to St. Louis, Floria placed her trust and hope in God. God called and she answered. She joined the Prince of Peace Baptist Church and remained steadfast and unmoved in her faith. She attended church faithfully until her health began to fail.
Floria was preceded in death by both her parents, Calvin Mims and Julia Johnson; three brothers, Calvin Mims Jr., Sylvester Enter, and Elijah Young Jr.; three sisters, Rosie May Morris, Annie B. Oliver, and Addie Young.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Jerry Hobbs; eighteen grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, family and friends.
