DORSIE MAE TOLLIVER was born from the union of Ida B. and Clyde Tolliver on May 31, 1947 in Morehead, Mississippi. She was third of seven children. Her father, Clyde Tolliver; and siblings, Earnest (Amzie Jr.), and Linda precedes her in death.
Dorsie also known as "Dottie", graduated from Vashon High School in 1965. She has worked in a number of jobs including Southern Kitchen, McDonnell Douglas Aircraft and several entrepreneurial ventures including construction, sanitation and confectionary. Dorsie was employed at Saint Louis University Hospital for the last 27 years.
Dorsie married Bill Martin, Jr. August 17, 1968, to this union three children were born, Bill (Kimberly), Karlos (Sharon), and Craig Martin.
In the early 1970's she became a member of Esther Chapter #5, Order of the Eastern Star. As a proud Past Grand Worthy Matron she loved all her sisters. As an active and faithful member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church, she served as a Steward and a member of the choir. She also assisted with groups and committees in the church.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her mother, Ida B.; her significant other and life-long friend, Casteen Harrison, Jr.; her brothers, Clyde Jr., and Jerome; her sisters, Ida, and Idella; her three sons, Bill, Karlos, and Craig Martin; grandchildren, Kiana Martin, and Ayrka Martin; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
