Benjamin Steele Jr

Benjamin Steele Jr. was born on April 25, 1981, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to the union of Benjamin Steele Sr. and Sherry Ann Steele. On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, Benjamin peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home at DePaul Hospital.

Benjamin, lovingly known as "Benjie" by his family, had one brother, Lavelle Phillips. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and grandmother.

Benjie accepted Christ at an early age and was raised in a Baptist household. He was a devoted son, grandson, cousin, nephew, and a proud Beaumont Blue Jacket. A true social butterfly, he loved attending all Beaumont High School functions, especially football games. He enjoyed visiting the Saint Louis Center Mall District, interacting with friends both locally and on Facebook, and most of all, spending cherished time with his grandmother, Rhoda Phillips, whom he adored.

Benjie leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory: his brother, Lavelle Phillips; four uncles, Percy Phillips (Debra), Terry Phillips, and Darryl Phillips; nine aunts, Elve Alle, Lethonia Hinton, Daisy Jones (Calvin), Rhoda Browder, Jacqueline Simms (Wayman), Kim Walker, Monique Phillips, Monica Phillips, and Cherita Greer (Rick). He is also survived by 29 first cousins, 46 second cousins, 21 third cousins, and many dear friends who will miss him greatly.
